Like I said, finding a pool loaded with these resis in a pressured GTA trib felt great.

Are you sure they're resis? It looks way too big to be a resi from anywhere within and hour of GTA
looks to me like a lake run fish that has been in the trib for a few weeks.

for sure resis... all three were between a lb and two. I have hit two other resies in there last year... they are green, yellow fins, and loaded with dots below lat line... big red cheeks, half the fight of steel. no question in my mind.

American stockers id say. I think i have a good feeling where you caught them, most gta rivers are too warm in the summer months to actually hold resies. Not saying theres none but most are in colder head water stretches.

Cpl from the week

I can believe they are resies to that river but not to that section of river ..... If stealhead are smart enough to know to follow salmon in to the river 5 months before they spawn in the spring for the salmon eggs who's to say the resies aren't smart enough to drop down from the head waters for salmon eggs?!

i question if they actually do that, the thing is in the west coast they have 3 separate steelhead runs, and the times vary as you head north. i think the fall trout run is either from they're saltwater ancestors genes. or if they come into the river to feed, ever cut open a steelies stomach? tones of bugs, and minnows the salmon eggs would just be a perk. resident trout are not always in the head waters, i have seen a few just a couple km from the mouth, would be interesting to see if what you said is true and see if they're eating salmon eggs.

Fish eggs are like cocane for addicted trout have you ever watched trout hovering behind the spawning salmon darting around like crazy ?? They are definitely there for the eggs the bugs and minnows are just filler while they wait for the salmon to dump there eggs
