:) we get normal hatches here as well but when the salmon are in the rivers the trout key in on eating eggs and flesh from dying salmon. You have to test a few bead colors to see which ones they are biting. It's weird though because on my last outing sometimes when handling a fish they are so full of eggs that some are regurgitated. I matched the bead colors and got zero hits. I threw out a mottled tangerine blood dot bead and caught all my fish on that color. They wanted the blood dot. You have to play with bead color and sizes.

This last couple trips more success was had on a large 10mm bead. If I were to "match the hatch" an 8mm bead would be thrown. Sometimes all convention gets thrown out the window...... Adapting and changing up is key. I love this time of year here.

i love this time of year too, loosing all my lures and then going on a scavenger hunt for left over forgotten roe bags lol :mrgreen:
