As expected the reports are coming in regarding the wanton abuse of migrating fish...hate to see this and hope this might someday be remedied...
Stay vigilant everyone

I generally try to stay away from the mayhem and look forward to conditions that make all but true steelheaders flee for their blankies...

BRING IT ON!!!!

They are calling for a mild el nino this winter, could be another awesome steelheading winter.

There was nothing like a "mild" morning or evening of steelheading with large snowflakes blanketing the banks and rod. Hooking lots of steel and not a soul around... heaven :)

Last year was fantastic after october at the Maitland River and Port Albert for chromies-was able to fish right through march.

Nope...too warm last year...like float says, needs to be a little colder...
It has the effect of getting rid of the meat hunters...
GOMeRs
(get off my river)

BRING IT ON!!!!

This is my first year fishing the rivers and seriously trying to catch salmon/trout and I am already looking forward to it getting super cold so I can fish with less people coming and stealing the spot you are fishing right from under you and being general d-bags.

If I am lucky maybe I will run into one of the fine OFFers out there this winter.

Same here.... My x-mas list is going to be long this year, all fishing gear...lol

Colder winter this year please. Last winter was spectacular for the rivers but I do miss the blue, glowing waters of Niagara and dodging mini icebergs... thanks for that refreshing picture Blair

Everyone gets hyped up about the cold.. until they try and fish in the cold.. lol
-It's not for the weekend warriors... which is why the die hards love it so much.

Nothing beats fishing the Niagara in December/January when it's a snowstorm and -27.

Best days I've ever had on any river :)
