after 21 hours fishing oct 1 st half at the island.....its pretty much done for the year....then salmon fishing lake ontario in the cold dark night and morning...i did learn a few things...

this tip comes from a knowledgeable fishing buddy named Riland....
to charge glow in the dark lures in the field
use keychain style blacklight flaslights or counterfiet money lights keychain style....

....best charge results....longer charge retention...less light pollution(camera flashes scare fish).
cheaper than taking the old vivatar camera flashes or using all the power from your digital camera or lugging the stuff...its faster to charge too....
you can but these at active surplus or some dollar stores
i was in awe when i was shown how it out performs...

goodluck out there!

efka... i am on a learning curve...the guy who told me this caught two salmon in an hour...so he knows more than i do...i thought it was an interesting tip...sorry for sharing

were you guys throwing glow spoons exclusively?
While I was there, ti seemed like everyone was using j-13's

frozenfire i wrote a post to your fishing ashbridges post
no i did not have j13 s with me....i was in the east north bay corner until 10pm when others left
we did use glow in the darks ...yes
the salmon are being caught on something else though....
i am sworn to secrecy....
if i see you personally ....i will show you the lures i purchased today....

i like to use my 30 million candle power spot light.

just kidding...

but really, several years ago i bought a 15 million candle power spot light and took it with me when i visited the Niagara Whirlpool at night time.
Wow, what a cool/fun light it is to be able to light up super far and bright! lighting up across the river is no problem... than i thought pointing light all over the US side wasn't such a good idea.

Anyways,,, it's amazing to see a beam of light during foggy nights.
