Hey ght, you would be surprised at what you can catch close to home. That's how this board got started. :D

As for pictures, yes there are plenty of pictures of Toronto pike in the GTA reports section, as well as a whole lot more than just pike. To get access to that section, you have to post a report of your own first. (You share with us, we share with you - Give and take.)

Also, if you do post a report, you could win a very nice prize:

Was out at the Island Sunday Mar16th.

Cannals are still all frozen another 2 weeks and they should be clear.

YAWN

I'm going to go try the harbour this weekend. Hopefully, I'll come back with a successful trip and report.

if the season closes does that mean that you CAN NOT catch pike? like i mean catch and release and you can still gt fined? that might be an ignorent question but just need to know.

Say speed limit is 60Km/h yet you drove 80km/h but nobody saw you, will you get a ticket?
But you are not following the law either, right?

When I go fishing and know there won't be any police or Co... but if I do forget to bring my license... it just bothers me in my mind that I just can not fish.

it would be okay to accidentally catch a pike, but it must be released immediately. It is illegal to go fishing specifically targetting pike.
A conservation officer would be able to tell what species you're after judging by the way you're fishing and the lures being used.

while i was renewing my gf's license at the local tackle shop, i got news that the leslie street spit has been producing pike for the last couple weeks now. :)

have you guys caught any bass around the islands and where is the leslie strip?

Leslie Street is at ???

Tommy Thompson Park. Sign says open to public during weekends only.
Ashbridge Bay Park have some too. Ice is out here,,, well atleast the outter half is.

bass can definitely be caught at the islands.

just take leslie all the way down to lake ontario. it's a fairly well known place but apparently you have to do a lot of walking to find the fish. similar to the islands. put the legwork in and you'll be rewarded. i've never been myself.

thanx for the advice def might have to give it a try when it gts a little wormer. Has anyone ever tried humber park at the bottom of parklawn and lakeshore in the west end??? im wondering if anything can be caught there.

I think you should visit there and let us know how it went :)

so i might just have to make a report on the humber park one of these days especially if your telling me there bass and pike. IM not to into carp fishing but pike and bass im defenitly in!

Hey guys, love the new layout of the board! Anyways, was great weather outside today so I thought I'd get out and get some fishin done for the first time this year. Went down to the harbourfront just east of the police marina and fished for an hour or so this afternoon. Unfortunately, no fish for me today. The forecasts say that this weekend should have some nice weather so anyone thinking about going should definitely give it a shot. Oh, and drove by Frenchman's Bay the other day and saw that the area by the foot of Liverpool road is free of ice and so is most of the southern part of the bay itself. Has anyone gave it a try this season?

Been busy but just wanted to say the trip out on Sunday for pike was a success, well for my buddy not me lol. Headed out at noon, it was a bit chilly since we were fishing facing the wind. I was alternating between spoons, mepps and rapala lures. My friend tossing one of my spoons finally hooked onto a 27 inch pike. It wasn't huge by any means but had a lot of girth. It's nice to get some slime on my hands again.
