Sunny with few clouds.
Water Visibility: clear
Group: Tangledline, David Kearney, Rob

Map:

Green dots mark the areas the 7 fish were caught.(two fishing holes - 7 fish)
red marks the reference point of the regatta course grandstand.
Fishing Strategy:
Fish were not biting.
Used both small and large Spinner baits of all colours to attract fish.
Tried Spinners, Spoons, Rapalas of all sizes and colours and different styles of retrievals.....no bites but lured in curious large mouth bass and sunfish. Fish gathered and watched the lures being retrieved.
The Bait that fish were caught with....Worms....(thanks David Kearney for bringing Worms)
Equipment:
Rods: Shakespeare Ugly Stick and a vintage Blanchard Algonquin T10-980 Trolling Rod
Line: Berkley Trilene xl extra smooth 10lb.
Setup: (simple hook) Gamakatsu octopus #2 by Normark
no weights, no bobbers....clear water so we used polarised sunglasses to make visual contact with fish as they attacked the worms....thus allowing us the best opportunity to set hook.
-fish did not bite with leaders, bobbers, or weights attached to lines...only stripped to naked hook and worm...clear water visibility made this tricky...fish backed away from lines with bobbers.
-cast worms on hooks 10 feet out to waiting "curious" fish.
-allow worm to sink to bottom.
-dance worm slowly up from bottom.
-fish struck worms 6inch to 1 foot off bottom ussually below or in front of them not above them.
Note: we were casting our shadows into the water(sun behind us) fish were watching us and knew we were there.

there are more fish photos but i can not seem to add them to this report....
note: nets were not used and catch and release policy followed.
Other info gathered:
although David Kearney and Tangleline have not seen or caught pike in this area for two weeks now, i was informed by another person fishing that he caught pike this week 100 to 150 feet from the accessible shoreline in the inner channels using a tractor tire style fishing raft with paddles....we observed him on this day getting skunked fishing for bass and pike....location is key in these channels, so is bait, so is time of day.
Torontonians: for close to home fishing give the islands a try.
