i don't know much about boats but i don't think a 2HP outboard can replace a trolling motor.

can you even put an outboard on the front of your boat???

i was thinking putting back of the boat.right beside 28hp outboard.let me know if it will wrk.thx

I'm no expert but thats going to be tough to put a trolling motor on, the way I see it is you might want to put a wireless bow mount on, you might also want to mount some wood or something so you won't have to drill the fiberglass. if you put something on the transom there doesn't seem much room you need some sort of mount and an extended tiller handle on whatever motor you pick electric or small 2.5-6hp.

Good luck I'm sure the more boat expereince guys on here will suggest something as well.

I think it depends on what kind of fishing you want to do. If you are going primarily troll, then the 2 hp will be fine. If you are going to do a lot of casting and pitching and flipping, then the electric motor would be better because it is more manoeuvrable and runs quiet.

Ya I agree with spinninreel, if you are looking at just trolling then putting it on the back will work fine, I have seen it done many times and a 2hp willbe perfect for trolling. If your looking at getting into weedy areas that your going to be casting in then want to just move down a bit and try a new spot, an electric motor will be better its easyer to move around silently and they are great in the weeds. You mmight have a problem getting one on the front unless you buy a really good on that has all the mounting platform and everything else, but their not cheap for a good one.
I think you would be in goos shape with the 2hp one, you should have no problem

Thx McLean.
Now i have to look for outboard & fishfinder.if any1 see some where good deal.let me know.thx

Hey man, try http://www.kijiji.ca, you can search in almost any city and I find amazing deals on here all the time on everything. I saw some trolling motors 2hp, and a 4hp I think they were off sailboats but they were very reasonably priced and at least one of those will be in good mechanical shape, cause thats their only means or power in a sailboat unless theirs wind. I and buying one of those fisheye view cameras when i get my boat, its a camera with 100' of cord, a tv and n carrying case, you hook it up to the batteries and you waltch the fish bite, good for ice fishing, or on unknown lakes finding fish holding on structure, or of you loose something you can easily retrieve it if you can see it.

Im with BFM...looks pretty tight back there...also, it is a heavy fiberglass boat & motor...Id also agree with needing a lil bigger than a 2hp..6 would do it IMHO...any wind at all and you will be sitting still with a 2hp...Go get a good transum mount high thrust trolling motor....unless you have access to the bow, but it doesnt look like it.

ya, sounds like he knows what he's talking about for sure. That would suck to go out and go through all the work of mounting up a 2hp and have to paddle when your in the wind to get your boat moving, lol.
I think any more questions on this topic should be refered to the disspatcher, lol.

Easy...!! I just know that Ive..." been there and done that " before thats all! lol
I don't mind sharing my mistakes with ya ! :D

lol, well im sure he will agree. Its better to learn from someone elses mistakes then make you own!
I sometimes am not that lucky, but in this case when i do get a boat im going to ask first attatch later, lol.
