good to hear you got one. nice colors.

and LOL at they thought they would attack you. I would have had that "OH SH!T" moment too when they saw you but didn't take off.

I've always been told turkeys are very shy when it comes to people but, I had a situation last fall at a job near Bolton. We could hear a turkey nearby in the bush all morning. Around lunch time I was cleaning up a bit and it came out of the bush and walked across the driveway about 20 feet from me. I decided to try and make some noises that might sound "turkeyish". This actually drew the bird closer to me, it approached to within 5 feet of me making it's own turkey sounds. They are big birds, but I did not feel threatened in anyway ( I had a 32 oz hatchet hanging from my pouch.) The turkey and I stood looking at each other and making noises for about 15 minutes. The guys I work with were on a balconey about 30 feet away and were howling. Finally I grew bored and went back to what I had been doing but it stayed and watched me for another 10 minutes before it wandered away.
I decided to tell my brother about this in an email which prompted him to respond, " Oh, one turkey talking to another."

Alfie.

What is the main line that you are using? I like the color and it looks like good line.

the main line is just some trilene-xl 14lbs smooth casting line from Canadian tire. smaller diameter then the 15lbs tough game i was using before. not bad stuff, it still twists a bit after a few hundred cast, but not as bad as thicker lines.
i find i have to buy line that is on the bigger spools, vs the small spools, the small spools get to loopy and keeps the shape of the spool it was on after i have it on my float reel.

how do u solve the line twist problems from side casting? or is it just something that happens no matter what?

Thanks for the info. You will always have twist if you side cast no matter what line you are using try learning "wallis cast" no line twisting. You can find it on line and YouTube.Ii just bought Suffix Mix Pro everybody is saying that is very good line but i have yet to try it. Right now i'm using Raven 8lb green.
Good luck with your fishing adventures.

to prevent the line twist tie a swivel in above your float leaving enough space for float adjustment and I use braid it is very forgiving for line twist and super light for keeping up off the water
