Hi,
Does anybody have any experience with underwater cameras? I have seen a few around, but the reviews are a bit sketchy....
I heard about Aqua-vu, they seem to be the top choice so far. Marcum seems to be also a good choice. Anybody here uses any of these?

Thx.

i have a Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 14MP Waterproof Digital Camera its tough i leave it hanging from my vest i bring it to the beach its been fully submerged and its working fine

I have a Fish TV with the 5" screen, Black and White, 50 feet of cable:

I works good in Clear water, in 10 feet of water I can see find, IN darker water AKA stained it starts getting harder to see. I have it up on Calender Bay on Lake Nipp and in 22 feet of water I could only see maybe 3 feet ice fishing. And ATM my cables split at the camera but I think thats becuz of the pike grabing the Lens that looks like a rockbass.

They are around $120 to $160.

I use an Aqua vu spool has 100ft of cable works great in clear or stained water ...has infared lighting for darker waters ..I use it with the kids dock fishing for rock bass(kids and many adults love watching the fish hit and then you set the hook on the screen) or myself ice fishing.mostly use it for seeing whats it really down there...for structure, bottom compositon and fish identity sometimes .the battery doesnt work anymore but I have had it for around 5 or 6yrs now. I use the 12 volt power supply cord anyways and plug that into an elimanator pack they outlast those small little batts they come with...They can also be trolled like a downrigger by hooking up the fin attachment and a downrigger clip.then attach your line and watch your lure wobble its way behind your camera and maybe get hit I have learnt alot with mine over the yrs. I dont know much about the marcums( I hear they are very good though) but I do hear the fish tv gets hard to see in deeper or stained waters..whichever you choose I am sure you will have fun with it...& most of all gain valued knowledge of your waters that most dont get to see...Gl hope this helps fish on

my fish TV also has a infared lighting but as I said in deep or stained water its hard to see, I got if off a friend for $40 so I am not complaining, one warning thou, Mine the camera is shaped like a rock bass, beware the pike, they may see it as a meal, I have to play TUG OF WAR one day ice fishing on Penatang Bay, with a 15ish pound pike, I won becuz he let go, we beleive my friend Sam caught the pike the next day, and the pike weight 14 lbs 11 OZ

I have one I picked up at Cabela's - their brand. Not the best but not bad either. I find its usefulness limited, but it does allow us a diversion when the fishing's slow. I can see about 10-15' in stained water at about 30' - black and white. Amazing the amount of gear at the bottom of a bay where we normally fish.
