every single one is annoying and hard to land regardless, unless you want to drag every single fight, both it is dangerous to the fish in colder temperatures and you won't be too popular if you are fishing with many others around you. that is why steelheading is such prestige type of fishing for the advanced.instapump416 said:I actually went 0-10 before landing this steelhead. I hooked up another right after but my line snapped at a knot in the middle of my leader. The more I fight them, the more confident I get to landing one.
i said landing them is annoying. fighting them is the most awesome experience while fishing exhilarating is the best word that you can describe steelhead fights.w_ boughner said:Your the first person I've ever herd say catching stealhead to be annoying !!!
I personally find it exhilarating
there is no such thing as controlling steelhead lol, you just hope you pull hard and pray the hook does not pop lol or you can run after him faster.instapump416 said:Can you guys give me tips on how to control a steelhead so it does take me down river.

I lost this guy because I had no control and a knot was left in the middle of my leader.

Hmmmm....interesting. I'll keep that in mind.ChasinTails said:this isnt really controlling steelhead and believe me im not a pro but to stop a fish from going downstream, you try to turn it so to speak, you do this by turning your rod upstream and when you do this the fish turns around and faces upstream and stops running downstream, i did this while my first steel was taking off downstream and it worked like a charm
Im glad you enjoyed it. When I have time i'll do a compilation of all the ones I lost that day.Klik said:i enjoyed the video, was like my salmon video i sent you. lol you fought it well. they are strong this year.
