20lbs test on rod suitable for 10lbs test, rod will break before line?

Am I correct?
dunno it all depends what shift made the blank i think. i ran i low end noodle rod for 10 years for peir fishing over spooled it 10-12 over 8 and fished 3/4 oz when it was rated for 1/4 and had no problem until it blew apart at 300,000 km this fall. then i snapped its replacement on a cast the second time out with it, rod was a fenwick 91/2 gt 8-12 and up to 3/4oz rated spooled with 10lb xt. the best one to date was on monday when the guy beside me breaks his gloomis on 6 lb and im thrying to break the clarus with 10lb.

i lost a couple of fish because i had no stretch in th line and had to adjust palming the reel little softer and be ready for the runs, but i felt every single head shake.

oh i know the feeling was awesome, thats why i like ironsilk very little stretch and floats decent too bad its getting hard to find . i was using mono as shotline cause iwasnt on the abrazzx yet and triying to save money that adds a good amount of absorbtion too.

Many rods break because they get the smallest little nick in the outter shell and with the constant flexing of the rod, it develops a fracture and then game over. A rod case is a worthwhile investment.

what was wrong?
i spooled some #10 fireline crystal over mono and running it now, i like it so far.
i switched to 14 for nooks and 1o for boys amd like it too. 0 line twits and it floats.. it does bed on the spool after a fish or snag, but only for 1 drift after. flick of the wrist sets the hook.
power pro is a no go wraps up om the tip

ps-ive beel fishing the same main to shotline swivel since august

lol you run 80 pound braid on your float rod! I guess those chinnys hooked in the back are alot easier to bring in that way eh?

Actually no I don't..It was just an example used to show that it was your incompetence that broke your rod and find it funny you blamed your line (never the anglers fault ) but in hindsight I should have ignored it figuring the response from someone named redneckchromer would not be very intelligent...I apologize..also as an ethical angler I find your last comment offensive.
