I'm new to this whole wader wader thing (been using rubber boots since I started), but I'm planning to pick up a pair in the next week or so. I just have one question: What do you guys do with your waders after a day of fishing? Wash? Hang? Soak? I don't want to mess up a new pair of waders after my first trip :). Any help would be appreciated.

I hang mine to dry. Are you going stocking foot or boot?

After heavy use I put it through the washing machine on "hand wash".

I let them air dry then flip them inside out to let the inside of the stocking foot dry out. Not sure if that's the way to do it but that's the way I do. Havnt really figured out another way to dry the inside of stocking foot after washing it.

Hang them to dry, but make sure you dry both the inside and outside. I hang dry them to let the outside dry first, then flip them inside out. It's important to get the inside dry too.

Probably need to wash them at the end of a season too. I fill the tub and hand wash with detergent. Afraid the washing machine will cause extra wear and tear over time.

Cheers.

When I'm finished fishing for the day, I turn them inside out and lie them on the back seat of the car on the way home.
Once home, turn them back to the outside.
I hang them from two nails in a back yard tree. I then hose them down (mud, grave, sand)
Let them dry (not in the sun) and then hang them in the house.
At the beginning of the season, i gently wash by hand using Ivory Snow powder detergent as recommended by Bare.( 8 years old, no leaks)
Other harsh detergents can change the gore-tex properties.
I use the same procedures for my Simms Guide G3 stocking foot waders.

hang dry them, I only wash mine once a season "if" nessary with nix wax products, on the long fishing days the waders get mucky i just hose them down with the pressure washer when I get home and then hang them to dry in the garage or basement next to the heater. been doing that with my simms g3s from 2006 without any issues, still going strong with the same pair........but then again I wear neoprenes in the winter so it does help the longevity of my breathables.

cheers

The more you respect you gear the longer it will respect you back lol. I just bring mine in and hang to dry. Leaving them in your car is a big no- no.

After salmon season I hang em on the roof racks of my car and they get the hose, big time. I use dish hand soap and scrub em down, does the trick.
