Help Support Ontario Fishing Forums:

Thx. Tried posting a vid but not sure what happened. This one was over 12 lb for sure. Dragged me 1/4 mile don't river just wouldn't stop.

Yikes, I've never seen such a fresh lamprey wound. Looks pretty brutal, otherwise that is a nice looking fish.

HWY 2 south to the lake, not north. Maybe he read the regulations wrong... I mean, north and south can be confuzzling.

Dont feel too bad Garfield, i'm sure that you didnt knowingly fish in a closed section. Dont worry about the rude remarks, thats what the barrier of the internet does to confidence levels I guess.

How about a friendly reminder that the river there is closed and they shouldnt be fishing there? Its a simple mistake not a case of a poacher knowingly abusing the resource and keeping a bunch of fish.

The regs dont even reference little rogue, are both branches considered the Rogue then?

You rail on everyone for keeping roe, with your holier than thou attitude. But you lax on someone who may have been Poaching?... - :?: selective reasoning :?:

FYI, I am not bashing on Garfield, he could have very well made an uneducated, honest mistake.

Yes

He made an honest mistake for sure. No harm done. Just in case... if the creek isn't mentioned in the regulations doesn't mean there are no rules ;) Takes on the same regulations as the creeks in the same area.

Now, fish in closed waters and poach all you like! Just don't tell anyone and bring your crappy gear just in case you get busted and your stuff gets taken away, you wont loose the good stuff :) Happy hunting!

fishing forums are for sharing experiences and for education...to learn better fishing techniques and conservation practices etc...
if by sharing an experience...persons with local knowledge of regulations inform you that where you were fishing at a certain time of year is contrary to conservation practices and also laws
then you learn that you should not fish that area at that time of year...simple...we don't know 1/10 of what we think we know...we are here to share knowledge...this was a learning experience...
if the experience was not shared...the situation would not of been brought to light....better one fish caught this way...than hundreds...we all make mistakes fishing...example....a lot of invasive species and plants
were transfered unknowingly for years until we were educated...we are all part of the problem but through forums and education we are part of the solution and conservation.
so i am not upset but happy we had the chance to share and learn.
by the way...real nice fish...
you did not know...now you do...no big deal ....take the time to ask and read regs before fishing new territory...and sometimes like reading a map you will stil make the odd mistake...its the effort and respect taken that counts in the long run...
peace
