weird faced pike

my girlfriend caught a pike a couple weeks ago now and i still cant get over it. this pike's lip was anything but normal

can anyone explain this?

thats what i figured.. what else would pull it like that? the thing is that this spot is never really fished..

I have seen something like this before I think its from being caught before and its healed over but not perfect. Something like when lizards looses its tail it never grows back the same.

This was my first reaction. It's possible that the fish had the corner of his mouth torn apart by a barb from a fisherman's hook at a very young age.

I agree. Previously caught and released pike that got a little mangled in the process. Just goes to show how tough those fish actually are...
