After having enough of OFN and me asking to be removed from their site, here I am! after 15 years....

I am an admin on a few different sites and just simply had enough of their double standard and OFN admins not following their own rules. Looks like there are ALOT of ex-OFN folks here... and for good reason it seems.

So with that said I hope I can contribute and help educate some younger anglers to pick up the sport!

A bunch of you will know me from different forums etc.. please feel free to shoot me a PM

Welcome Dude!

Lots of Ex-OFN'er here ....
Lots of Newbies...
Few "old timers" as well.

Can't run from the Politics or Double Standards - Life is what it is.
Can get away from it for awhile.

Hope your stay is enjoyable & long lived.

TROUT is the species of importance here.
Everything else gets the Double Standard.

Now now Lebowski, we all know that if it ain't trout, its trash

It's been months since I decided to never lurk or post on OFN. Figured I was better off steering clear of that phronemophobic atmosphere. Thought I would miss some of the reports that get posted on there, don't really though.

Welcome Gerrit! What species is your favorite to catch? What setup do you use?

Like my name says, I'm one of the noobs.

Welcome!

Pretty crappy intro if you ask me.
Me being a newb and reading that seems like the drama has just been poured into this forum or that OFF is second to OFN. Just me again puytting my 2 cents in. I am not saying anyone has to live by my words but putting some perspective on this.

That being said, what do you fish for as others have asked.

Welcome...and looking forward to learn from your experience Gerrit. I don't care much about politics...it's a forum for crying out loud. I share whatever experience I have and hopefully can contribute just as I learn from others. It's an overwhelming feeling when you learn something apply it in the water and actually haul in fish. Good luck. Tight lines.

Welcome g-man! now that you're not a mod it should be easier to ignore the BS. Incidentally you'll also have more time to teach people who could benefit from your experience. Why not start with me lol

Hi folks and thank you for the welcome :)

I have not come here to bring drama, I asked to be removed to get away from the drama ;) The reason for my intro is that alot of members here know me :)

I am a multi-species angler, Pickeral, Pike, Trout etc. I have been fishing since before I learned how to walk (or so I am told)

I grew up on the Shores of Lake St. John as my family used to own a decent sized chunk of property there....(They sold it after the casino went in and made a ton of moolah) I miss that little lake a lot.

I currently reside in the small town of Brighton, Ontario and can see the boat launch from my front yard. Having Pres'quile Park as my backyard affords me the ability to view a lot of wildlife, so look forward to some nature shots in the near future as well, as I hone my skills with my new Nikon DSLR.

I am currently shore bound as I needed to sell my boat as part of my divorce :( But I am currently looking for a new one.

I have fished all over this province, Georgian bay, Lake Nipissing, Simcoe, the kawartas, Lake O, Lake E, and a million smaller lakes and streams in between. I have found a little spot here in Brighton I hope to wet a line into soon, holding some resident steel.

If I can lend a hand here on OFF I certainly will, offering tips and advice.

I will most likely be on during odd hours due to my work schedule (12 hour shift worker)

Tight lines and take care folks,

G
