went for some channels

had an awesome day.

caught 2 channels, 2 sheephead(freshwater drum) and a carp.
and i seen 3 gars swimming on the top. i went to net them but by the time i got the net they fled..........never seen one before i was like 0.0'
boy oh boy those channels fight!!! they were both around 7lbs each.
had alot of funnnnnnn

but i have a questiion. i seen a bunch of dead sheephead floating today. must of been 3 floating today. do they go up to spawn and then die? i didnt see any noticeable wounds. no cuts or scratches. just dead floating.......anyone know why?

Likely that anglers bounced them off the pier or rocks when releasing them.

no this is in a river. secluded not many people know about it. its under a bridge and it goes from lake erie and goes inland. and durring the spring the channels run upstream to spawn.

its a place out in the country. and its not a well traveled place.

sheepies are very sensitive to fast temperature drops, thats the reason for the dead floaters, tons of them in the BOQ as well.

just really strange. it has been hot the past week so maybe thats it. like i said i didnt see much harm on them. no lashes no bites just dead fish......
