West trib a holes

Was at a west trib today that is known for its loogans. And it didnt disapoint. Some fisherman were very nice/respectable, but others not so much. It was still a goon show at 1030 in the morning. First pool was friken grand central station. Not a fish can make it up that mess, so forget any hopes of salmon spawning. Salmon filets and gutted salmon dominated the legitly dead ones by 90%. It was 80% salmon, 12% bows, and 8% browns. Anyway, I found my slightly less crowded pool (4 people including me). All these guys were cool and fished legitly. No big run of anything but everything was in the pool, with about 4-8 fish at any one time. Now for the loogan story these two teens come along with bare hooks and weights and start fishing 2 ft beside me. The cast right into the pool and after a while of ripping hooked a brown in the tail, fought it with their 50 lb test, and landed it. I'm casting this huge rod with my pin and now i have to change my cast cause these two idots barged in to my spot.These two pissed me off so much I drifted right in front of them and they didnt cast. The look on there faces was hilarious. Anyway thats this weekends bitch story for me how about everyone else.

I was flabergaster this weekend. Nets, bows and arrows barehanded fishing. Too much gun power to even move your jaw.

The cicus is still going down at the parks. Man I am happy I do not set foot in there anymore. I usually wait until the yahoos go home

If I see blatant snagging near me or any other illigal method of fishing I always politley let them know the method of fishing they are using is illegal. Sometimes people are complete newbs (no excuse to not read regs but still..). If no regard is shown I mention that Fish and game will be called. I then move or leave to avoid egravation to me. But I do call. Salmon fishing this year had me more pissed off then enjoyable days on the water. I vow never to have a salmon season like this last one. I will avoid certain time frames and rivers all together next year. Not worth ruining my mood while doing something I truly enjoy. I WILL ALWAYS CALL. There is no excuse to continue an illigal method of fishing if someone has kindly tried to educate you. That is why I enjoy fishing for other species of fish more then salmon. Less people (at times no one at all) and world class trout/grayling fishing. I will take that any day of the week over salmon fishing. However, a guy needs to eat....I eat salmon but C&R all other species.

Yes arctic char and dolly varden. I catch a few everytime I target rainbows. They are awesome looking fish.

I or my eldest son will stand right beside them as we call the MNR, they tend to leave after that. I have to admit though I'm lucky as I can get out during the week or I just go a little later as I find people have moved on. Might not get as many fish but I tend to get pools to myself.
