I was at a south west pier last night and landed 1 small chinny hen, around 10 lbs. It was on a green and white KO wobbler. Unfortunately we gave it to another fisherman cause it was bleeding too bad in the gills. That was the only one landed all evening. First salmon of the season!

I am hearing the west has not had its run yet. I will be going out in 2 weeks to legal zones. I am going to spend one last weekend in Zone 16 before it closes after this weekend!

I think next year if I am not too caught up with tournaments for bass I may end up picking up a float rod and reel and try my luck out. I know how powerful these fish are but I will always love my smallmouth!

Put a spinning reel with 8 or 10 lb hydrofloat line on a raven im 8 13 ft rod,some floats, slit shots, small hooks, some roe bags from a tackle shop and your set!

you dont need all of that, get a bass rod put a float on it, dosent matter which ones, almost texas rig the roe but leave about 3 ft from the weight to the roe, yarn, beads whateva, and try your luck our EAST

i use my 7ft bass rod with 14lb mono on it no prob, was at a pier last night 3 casts 3 fish, then it broke off my stuff and i lost my mojo

thats the worst, the finally break off, I went thru that twice this weekend. Saturday, called it a day Yesterday it happend again but to my dad and we called it a day. Supringinly I didnt loose any floats this weekend.

The long rods make a huge difference in float fishing. Use a 9 ft minimum
