WHAT DID YOU BUY TODAY? FISHING PURCHASES

Hi, first time poster here; this seems like a nice, safe thread for my debut.

I've never had a nice spinning outfit - just cheap stuff - so I finally bought a nice outfit. I chose the new Fenwick HMG medium fast with a Pflueger Supreme, which I've wanted for years. Seriously sweet gear, sensitive and beautifully balanced. When I get around to it I will install either a 30# Power Pro Slick line or a Suffix 832 braid on one spool, and Trilene XT 10# on the other spool. I'm looking forward to doing some drop shotting for bass with this outfit, and at the same time I bought an Abu Garcia Veritas MH casting rod to go wth my Ambassadeur casting reel for throwing big plugs. That will be my go-to primary weapon for pike.

I am also a big fly guy and my favorite fly rod is my Redington CPX 6wt for salmonids up to 7 lbs. Lat year I bought a Sage VXP and promptly sold it because I found it was just too powerful for my particular casting stroke and I am too old and stubborn a dog to change my ways to suit a new fish pole. I made a better caster than me very, very happy.

Mail has arrived.

Mojo Musky 8' Medium Heavy Rod, Going to be a nice improvement over my bass rods. Finally can throw double cowgirls and such.

Picked up some large Dr. spoons and spooled my medium action rod with 20lb spider wire braid for my April trip to Kotzebue Alaska ice fishing the ocean for massive Sheefish. first time there and first time chasing after sheefish. Snowmachineing about 20miles into the frozen ocean to get to the big boys out there. I'm completely stoked!

Fly fishing related..... Customizing some 10mm tangarine mottled beads with a blood dot. The blood dot was a big producer last fall for rainbows. Playing with my wife's nail polish again.....Ha!
