i for one like it when i'm casting to a weedy spot or some structure thinking that there must be fish there and i'm reeling and i feel that slight pull hoping it's a fish and then BAM!, fish on!

Fishing in lakes is mostly fishing the water, even if you believe a fish is right beside that log on in those weeds. In a river you sometimes spot the fish, and more likely see the rise. It is like hunting, the game is on, can you make a presentation for success? No relaxing now!

The unseen is my thrill.

I love walking the river, every bend seeing that next pool with perfect bubbles above slowly drifting away..Thats the thrill because the fish are there.

Both on any lakes or pond, seeing the fish from far and make em strike is exciting It tells you too that your technique is working. Not seeing the fish and jump to your lure, you will be shocked for 1sec before you get excited.

Tough choice for me as I love to see a big brown come out of nowhere to hit a fly, but being able to see your target, it's reaction to your bait, and finally the take, there's nothing more nerve racking and exciting IMO
