He's thinking, "I may have just made the biggest mistake of my life."
What is the green thing in front of the toad on the snakes back? I can't really make it out, but it looks like a salamander or something?

Alfie.

I zoomed in. It looks like its just the snake breaking the water in that spot

toads are extremely poisonous and the predators know that by heart. so the snake is not stupid enough to eat it, knowing it will die.

toads are actually very aggressive. they eat anything a bass does. including birds, amphibians other fish and small mammals. seen one eat a mouse lol

almost looks like a cane toad, if thats the case, then the snake is saying enjoy the ride

the green stuff is most likely algee from the surface

Looks to me like the toad may have taken the bait. Smart snake?

thats definitely a cane toad you can tell by his color and large parotoid gland behind his eye. extremely poisonous and deadly if ingested by other predators. Snakes eat them all the time and will most likely die from it but i heard some snakes have evolved to defend against this. Think of the cane toad as the suicide bomber of wild life.
