Just wondering how big everyone who uses roebags ties them. I tend to use 4-5 eggs per bag for steelhead and 6-8 for salmon. I never used floaters in with the bags until this year. What works best for you guys? Going up to the Nott in the morning and thinking ill try trout beads ive never used them before.

Dirty water, big bags. Clear water, small bags.

Dont forget SINGLE EGG! lol

Also, Try tying up 3-4 Different Sizes and giving each one of them a `GO

Many Guys will also do this with Colours.

Not only will you have the good advice of others, but will also gain the Field experience of your own observations.

Maybe im just picky, but I only tie odd numbers of eggs. Mainly 1-7 sometimes 9 just my personal preference.

That sounds like a bit of OCD there CA87!
Be careful with that! :)

Anyone use blue bags? I got a tip on it last fall and had some success...just wondering if anyone else uses blue regularly?

Like I said, I maybe just Picky..just thought a fish wouldnt want to see a squar bag like you get sometimes tying in even numbers : : just doesnt look natural..

Depends on the water conditions. It also depends on the roe. Lake O produces much bigger and lighter roe than say lake Huron or GB. Therefore, I use about 5-6 GB eggs or 3 from Lake O to get a small bag. Single eggs are also useful. Bought some single eggs and was using them to intice cisco's with no success in the Wiarton area

Anywhere from 3 - 7 chinny eggs depending on situation. I remember a scenario... river stacked with fish, low and clear, no ones catching a thing for a couple of hours... just for jokes I spun up a monster ball, the size of a toonie and sure enough on my first drift I land a nice steelhead.

Most of the times I'll use white, smaller bags in clear water and bigger, green / pink bags in dirtier water. Depending on how dirty the water is there will be times I wont even cut the excess material off.

Haaa. I remember the first time I seen you by the wall flicking those things

Feel free to ask if someone can part with some spawn...or buy some hatchery spawn...the selling of roe however, is illegal here unless you are licensed to do so...

Talk to Mike at Fishheads...they have beautiful product brother...

I like bigger bags then what I see most guys using.

I can't believe some guys actually count how many eggs they tie in each bag. I guess whatever works for you.

This weekend all the bags I tied were quarter to loonie sized and extra juicy. Water still pretty dirty here. The next few weeks I'll start going down to nickle and dime sized bags.

lol whats wrong with that. I get pretty OCD once the steelheading season really heats up. I have separate containers for chartruse, pink, peach and white bags along with separate containers for 3 egg bags and 5 egg bags for each color along with another separate container for the quarter and loonie size bags(all colors mixed in).

On top of it all I use worms 70% of the time! lol

Ya I guess I have a little OCD too when it comes to trolling and making sure every spoon in my box has hooks so sharp they could dig into granite...lol

I'll have to buy some if I can't find a donator, so I may as well ask. Would any one be willing to part with some eggs? It would be greatly appreciated

no way! that's awesome! i definitely don't mind tying i have all the fixings. Kind of enjoy tying em up. send me a pm with your info and we can figure things out.

Thanks Eric
