This certain nameless GB river that I live on now has a water temp around 17 deg. Do you think there would be any steelhead left at those temps?( Haven't fished it lately as the water has been quite high and muddy---on this particular river, that is)

there will still be fish for sure, but the numbers will be less and less everyday from now on

you just gotta know where to go, saw hundreds on the weekend, i watched 30 drop back into a pool i was fishing, saw freshies moving up, watched 2 fresh hens move into a flat, then a big male drop out of the pool to join them

I don't know about GB, but on Sunday a certain Lake O tributary had only a fraction of the fish it had on opener. One more good rain and almost all of them will be out.

fish now before the rain comes!

Still fish moving up out east on my trib, most are holding in pools

There is still a boat load of fish in the tribs. Lots still on beds but lots already dropped.Hope we get some good rain so they can all safely move out.

With these warm temperatures fish will be more stressed if you hook them,. Best for the fish if you switch species and wait for the fall.

I really wanted to take my son to see me catch a couple bows, he is so facinated by fish its rediculous. I think this will be the last weekend untill fall I will be out for steelies. Hopefully I can get into a couple small ones this weekend....For his sake of course LOL!

Totally agree staffman...opener for me is actually my closer. Im done fishing drop backs in warm water right after opener. Id like to see them all get back out. Look forward to fresh chrome in the fall

If you still want to catch trout. just hunt resident trout. they're smaller but they're fun all the same.

my last outing today, got nothing, lots of tired, dark and lazy fish. Water temp is WAAAAYYY too warm for good fishing. Im done river fishing till september.

Cant wait for boating in the summer :)
