fished saturday april 2 and sunday april 3. saturday was lots of ice, it broke up as the day warmed up.the water was really clear.sunday almost no ice and was was still quite clear. got skunked both days float fishing, man just can't get no action on my float setup. starting to wonder if it's only fishable before 10am as somebody had stated on the board before. i heard of three trout being caught but all seem to be early morning. i fished from 10am to 5pm both days, guess next time have to get out earlier.had an interesting drive home to windsor sunday night heavy wet snow, freezing rain and then rain, bunch of cars and trucks off the highway.anyway just good to get away for a couple of days and fish, some fish would have been nice though.

I think it was just the weather last weekend Chris. I fished the whirlpool on friday morning from 8:30 until about 1:00 along with my brother and a friend. None of us had luck. And every other person at the whirlpool on friday got skunked as well. We didn't float fish, but jigging and spinning should work if the trout are biting!

I fished my home creek 4 days in a row, 4 mornings and 3 nights. What I found was very interesting, the fish only bite early morning and maybe a little at night. I've been getting to the creek at 6am and I found them biting bigtime from 6am-8am. I would see about 6 -10 fish on in that time slot and from 8am and on, I would only see a fish or two on. As for evenings, I noticed they don;t bite that well either, they bite for about 15 mins in the evening just before it goes pitch black. As for mornings, I also find that the fish turn on and off very quickly, during the 6am-8am bite, I noticed the fish were caught in 10-15 minute intervals. I'd see a few fish caught back to back and then they'd turn off again for about 30 mins, and repeat. I also noticed the trout bite much better when it is a really cold and wet overcasty morning. The first morning I went it was snowing all morning and I saw about 12 fish get hooked and many more jump. Since that day, I rarely see them jump and a lot less have been caught as well.

Fishing has been slow as I heard from many lately at the whirlpool, not sure for the exact reason. But some were doing so well boat fishing at Queenston. The water depth at Queenston is also very deep , I pressume fish tends to go deep when barometric pressure is more suitable.

Have to wait for more consistant warm weather.
