Wind direction plays a HUGE part in fishing.

Especially on the Niagara. Sustained SW winds mess up the river. Height and clarity.

During Salmon season you can slam fish early off the pier when the wind is just right.

DEFINATELY at NIAGARA!
I'm no expert on the subject ... but do listen to the NIAGARA CROWD on that one.

In the GTA TRIBS , not really an issue.

Can agree that for LAKE O fishing it also plays a big factor.

We all want to maximize ours odds, that only makes sense. However, in general ... I get out as much as possible and leave some of the finer details to the Forecasters & Condition experts!

So when does the Whirlpool season end for bows? I would like to try it but not likely get a chance until after the Holidays.

It doesnt really "end".

You can catch bows in the Niagara all year round.

Main season though seems to be October through March.. then starts to taper off into May-June.
