 Forgive me I have never fished a pay as you go pond. Are these places not subject to the Provincial Fishing regulations when it comes to open and closed seasons??Weisman there are private ponds 45 minutes north of Brampton for fly fishing catch and release, pond for Speckled trout and a pond for Rainbows. I think it's $4 entrance fee and if you decide to keep the fish it's so much a pound. You can google it or if you want PM me & I will tell you where it is

Noob that just gave me an idea. I know of a trout pond that is about a 15 min drive from my house and if they have winter ice fishing I would be sold! Sure each fish you catch costs at least 30 bucks but I would save a ton on gas! haha
So what I am hearing here is that a privately owned pond is open for fishing for Specks for instance even though the season is closed everywhere else? Does that apply to streams where the land-owner also holds the rights to the riverbed? Or a land-owner has an entire natural lake on his property? My research will begin tomorrow.

Yea the riverbed thing, it has been discussed often on this forum which is why I didn't really raise the topic. I was just using the example to see if a landowner could bypass fishing regs.he may own the riverbed (which in my opinion is highly debatable) but not the water that runs over it, the fish live in the water not on the land.
but yea only commercially labeled fish farms are open
