The Little Lake in Cambridge used to have muskies? Or are you referring to another Little Lake?

A few of my spots in Brampton aren't showing any signs of winter kill. The ice has only melted out a few feet, though.

Yeah I stopped by Professors yesterday, pretty much still frozen...although I saw a little Perch swimming around through some of the cracks !

drove to mountsberg today and stopped to take a look didnt notice anything alarming.. went along the tracks and the west side shoreline,,
heres hoping its alright. will be pretty upset if its bad after all the shit clears up. its close by for me and i go there when time is an issue, which is often in the summer

Promising news so far! I will be hitting some local ponds I have never tried before tomorrow... as the weather is supposed to be beatiful in Burlington!
I will let you guys know of my report

Went to Loafers Lake in Brampton and there is at least 100-200 dead fish around the shore and island.. LMB, Crappie, Carp, Brown Bullhead... Very sad to see.

That unfortuinate. Stopped by a local pond in Burlington a few days ago and saw no signs of dead fish. Threw a few lines and got a few bites too! Had a largie hit my rapala xrap popper
Good sign over here!

theres a lot of factors to winter kill, what happens in those shallow lakes/ponds with no inflow/outflow is with the water being less than 5 feet deep carrys very little oxygen. and the dead weeds create no new oxygen and the dieing ones actually give off gas that bothers the fish. little lake barrie is moderately deep and in the deep areas has big sand bottoms which the fish will hang out over late winter, it also has in and outflow so the odds of a die off are very unlikely. never know though when it comes to mother nature, its hard to believe some lakes will be frozen for almost 5 months this year!

Little lake in cambridge

Thats an awesome lake. A few years ago I was fishing there in a canoe with a buddy and something big hit my bait while fishing for bass it broke my braided line like something cut it with scissors. Either a huge pike or musky.

I took a trip to mountsberg today to enjoy the amazing weather.... and I was disgusted with what I saw....

Im not too sure if all of you have ever been to mountsberg, however there is a darn on the back corner. With the water levels so high, they were draining the lake into a small river, verry shallow, rocky and filled with debris. As they had the pump on pumping water out of the darn, tons of pike went with the water. As I am aware about the lacking fish population at mountsberg at times, I decided to catch what I could and carry it back up the dam and release it back into the lake. As we were doing this, a fellow fisherman caught the biggest pike I have seen come out of mountsberg.. with a bit of encouragement, he also carried it back up and released it into the lake. I could see 3-4 dead pike already. The river they were getting pumped into.. would not be grounds for survival. In a about an hour and a half me and 2 of my buddies caught 10-15 pike and released the majority of them.

To the left of this picture, that is where the water was being pumped out of, the lake water height was at the top of the dam wall
In the summer, there isn't anywhere near as much water there... as it is just a tiny shallow stream when they aren't draining the lake.

I was dissapointed as to what were happening to the pike.... I feel that the conservation should have some kind of fish net up around the water trap to prevent things like this from hapening. There was also a tiny perch swimming around. I did however fish the lake for 2 hours without a single hit. No reports of winterkill however so that is good!
