Has anyone every fished at wriggleys corners on the out skirts of Cambridge and Ayr? I have been there a couple times and caught a couple smallers size pike. Its a really big lake but A guy that was fishing there told me that you cant bring any boats in the lake period. Anyone one else know anything about this?

i live kinda close by, i can't say i have ever seen a boat out in the water there.

i know one day, hubby was coming home and came to the stop face the one that looks like a pond. there were fishing jumping out of the water like he had never seen before, he then turns the corner and saw all the ppl fishing in the bigger lake on the other side of the road.

so we figured maybe you couldn't fish on the other side (but i'm sure i have seen ppl there)

we plan on going out there one night and my dad is friends with the guy on the corner, if i remember, i will ask for you :)

i fished it from shore. i heard no watercraft permitted... i wasn't sure if that was for the big pond or small one. or both.
i go but always wonder why. i catch alot of crappie, suns and cats. i hear there's pike but they're small. i also heard something about a fishkill every once in a while which would tell us why there aren't too many biggies.
i've mapquested a few other ponds in the area but they aren't too accessable. if you're up for a short drive, ayr produces pretty good catches under the bridge downtown. nith river i think?

The lake your talking about is called Bannister Lake, I was born and raised in Cambridge and used to fish it ALL the time.. When I was younger it produce decent size Pike and tons of them, same went for Crappies and Smallies, but 10+ years back they redid the coulvert (spelling?) And that basically killed off all the fish for years. I hadn't fished it since then until this year and caught some small Pike and Crappies, the fishing is slowly coming back but I can't see it booming for another 5+ years.

As for the bridge in Ayr, I have never fished it myself but I do fish a couple bridges close to Drumbo on the Nith and they've produced decent size Smallies, Pike, Carp and Suckers.
