Sooo....here's the scenario; You've decided to accept the survivorman challenge and are taken to a lake you know nothing about. You are given a fishing rod, a boat and some other basic tackle. You are only allowed to bring 3 lures.
What three lures would you bring, what colour and Why those 3?

My 3 choices would probably be a brown jig with trailer, a xrap silver colour and a spinner bait in white. What about you?

I'd say X-rap perch (bass, pike/musky), #2 mepps green/black spoon(bass, rock bass, trout), 1/4 oz lead head jig(bass,walleye, pickerel).

3/8 oz.Leadhead jig with chartreuse twister tail (and often a small scrap of fish belly /worm for "sweetening"),3/8-1/2 oz. spinnerbait(white skirt or if no skirt twister tail/sassy had dressing) and Rapala minnow(silver body)-left out a lot more though.

Rapala Jointed Minnow (J6), black jig and a bright color spoon.
Sharper, why the jointed minnow compared to the xrap, would you use the blk jig with a trainer and what colour and make of spoon?

Hmm....

Doesn't matter which 3 lures because my fishing skills lack too much to catch anything.

My 3 for sure would be...black #5 mepps in-line spinner. a white big-O and a jig & pig (or tube jig)

I have had lots of success with the jointed minnow, the swimming motion of a wounded fish is hard to resist. For the black jig I might add a trailer. For spoons I don't really care what make it is, as long as it has some weight to it so I can cast it far and run it deep. Bright colors for murky waters and lighter color for clear conditions.

i would bring my green white spinner bait and brown/blue flipping jig and a mepps inline spinner.

and then i would hope to catch something to survive lol,

I bring a white spinner, black mepps, and a rapala.

I like tubes and jigs better, but anything plastic I use tends to break or rip. So the other ones will give me a better long term chance.

Hey Slimy, what is a big- O?

it's made by Cotton Cordell.... 2 inches long, fat, little minnow bait, kinda wiggles it's way back to you...works beautiful for smallies. has to be white though (has red eyes, with two other small black spots on top), runs pretty shallow. 2-4 feet. IMO..it's a must have in every tackle box.

I think the Jointed Rapala J6/J9 is an excellent choice, I only have 1 J9 now I'm curious I think Rapala has an xrap jointed looks like I'm off to le baron again on Monday

Rapala does have an xrap jointed - xrap jointed shad approx 11.50 at LeBarons.

My all time go to lure would be a jig head coupled with a yellow 3" twister tail. Can't go wrong.

#1 SILVER AND RED MEPPS SPINNER#5
#2 YELLOW AND GREEN JITTER BUG
#3 PLAIN HOOK AND AN ARTIFICIAL WORM

WHY THESE 3 BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER GONE FISHING AND NOT CAUGHT SOMETHING ON ONE OF THESE.
