    2015 boot..err, Salmon run pics!

Nice! Been a good season so far, over the past month and a half, we've managed a bunch of chrome fish. Still lots of chromers coming up and now that the browns have started it's game on! Time to switch gears and head to the gbay tribs and start chucking for early steel!

Breaking news: Salmon run 2015 has been cancelled.

Don't know where you have been but there have been fish for over 3 weeks now, a small run came in and everyone was hooking up, about 2 weeks ago, after that it has been a few coming in each night. I wouldn't say its dead slow but slow for sure, compared to 2 weeks ago, there is more than 1 fish...

    Salmon in the rivers/creeks

I've been catching for 2 weeks now out east, nothing major but I've managed at least a couple each time out. Definitely no "run" yet but if you know what you're doing there's a chance of hooking one. Some rivers have more than others but after a little exploring you'll figure it out ;)

Not much there now unless you're into carp.

    Speed

Sorry, I thought you meant trolling with riggers, can't really troll for salmon right now without riggers anyways, waves won't effect your bait with riggers. My average speed is 1.7 mph, if that doesn't get them, I jump to 2, if not, then 1.5, gotta play around a bit and troll around humps.

    2015 Run

Lots of fish still in the rivers, gbay tribs have been terrible this year, especially the ones closest to me (isn't that always the case, lol) but still managing a few fish, much more down south on the lake O tribs, most fish aren't active but after some scouting I found a few creeks that don't...

    2015 Run

I had most of my luck on opener on roe and pinkies, oddly enough the couple of weeks before opener all I was getting them on were flies with beads. Tough opener this year, almost no fish compared to previous years but we managed about a half dozen/dozen each, every time out so far. Lots of fresh...

Lol I hear ya man, not really itching to river fish at all to be honest, I'm having such a blast with the ice! Most of my fish actually hit the roe, I run a double setup, fly on top, roe on bottom, attract with the fly and catch with roe but some days they don't even look at that roe. Nice fish...

Ya, the times I got real close to the current, it was very murky, I fished mainly 6-10'. Those flies work awesome for them under the ice eh?! Best part is, most guys don't even think about trying them for ice fishing!

Simcoe Lakers March 14 - Sonar Video Footage

Nice fish! For me its been a weird year, in northern lakes where I usually get Lakers up to 4-5 lbs Max, I've been getting simcoe sized tanks. Simcoe especially near the beginning of winter I was getting amazing action but all the Lakers were small, as the season went further I started getting...

    Joe Opener

Smaller ones are plentiful and are fun, because they hit literally anything, the big ones is where it gets trickier.

    Joe Opener

They do, used to be much more big ones years ago, mostly smaller ones now but still a few big ones lurking around!

    Joe Opener

Opener finally came around on one of my favourite lakes and I decided to go into the cold on Sunday and get myself a few lakers. It was cold and we didn't really wanna move around so we just went out, set up and drilled holes, after we put the fish finder down and got comfy in the hut, I quickly...
