New to the Pine / Notty Rivers

you can get a pass to fish on the base in angus, one of the best spots, if you get the run at the right time, you will se hundreds of fish, both in the fall and spring and almost no pressure!

    Sheephead/ Freshwater Drum lures

ive gotten them on just about everything, lures, cranks, jigs and plastics, live crayfish seemed to work the best for the bigger 20+ pounders, as well as crayfish imitating deep diving cranks.

New to the Pine / Notty Rivers

the pine has both steelies and salmon, they don't go in for an long time but the time they do come in, you can usually walk across the backs of fish, its a tough river to figure out but ounce you do, it can be a very producing river. As for the notty right now, all i do is bottom bounce with roe...

    Silverbass

i know theres a lot of them in erie but they are tiny compared to the ones up north, the ones around here don't usually get over 4 pounds, they usually hit jig and grubs, minnows, worms, etc. Never had any hits with a spinner though, i don't fish them around here too much at least not ounce i...

    pike opener photos

i wish i could say the same, lol, anytime I'm fishing pike over 8 pounds which is a lot around here, i get rips, it stays on for like 2 minutes, takes a run, bam there goes my lure! I like steel leaders really thin and black, if I'm fishing snot rockets ill use the mono and fluro leader.

    pike opener photos

i use either 12 pound fluro loader or a really really thin leader, those are hard to find, the thinnest ones i found were in Canadian Tire in belleville, lol. I tend to use fluro in spots where the pike are small, where they are bigger, i always have break offs with the fluro leader so i just...

2014 Opener! Lets See What You Got!

lol, i have nothing against keeping a couple fish for the table, i do it all the time, people consider steelhead as catch & release only fish, i release most of them of course but I'm never against keeping a fish or two for dinner!

ANYONE HERE COLLECT WORMS AFTER RAINFALL?

you can feed them a tiny bit of milk or cucumber, (tiny bit), paper towel is good for moisture, i usually put one near the bottom, i put all of them in a big fully styrofoam bucket with a lot of soil, then just put a dozen or so in a smaller styrofoam container when i wanna get out.

2014 Opener! Lets See What You Got!

i dot take steelhead out of the water usually if I'm releasing it, if I'm picking it up and taking pics and grabbing it by the gills, then its going home for dinner.

    Suckers...

you can easily get 15+ steelhead days right now, not too hard if you know what you're doing, they're biting like I've never seen before, suckers are ok but when you're after steelhead and the sucker starts taking you under log jams and stuff, you think its a steelhead, you get kinda pi$$y.

i was out east and was getting tons 1-3 km's from the lake, i was getting them in the same tribs 20-25 km's up river as well, i honestly caught more downstream and they were much more fresh and more willing to bite, begin the just came in from the lake and haven't seen hundreds of roe bags yet...

2014 Opener! Lets See What You Got!

@salmonoidstalker: those aren't reds, the fish don't spawn in there, thats just a tiny stream that connects to the main river.

    My Opener

had a great opener, got out two days in a row, not a ton if fish but probably my best opener for numbers, they were very willing to hit after begin caught several times. Got my bud on his first so that was a nice bonus! Lots of ripped leaders and pi$$y periods but it was all good and worth it in...
