    Yea, the gut splitting sucks, but keeping the roe alone is not illegal, as long as they are within their five fish limit of roe, they are fine

    People that complain about the smell, they shouldn't live near creeks or rivers, or go for walks along them in the fall, it's a natural stage of life for the salmon to die. Some are dragged by animals, some by people, I've actually hooked into a dead rotting salmon on the bottom of the pool...

    Pike fishing is best in early spring around Lake Ontario harbours Salmon don't have a closed season, the area you're allowed to fish them shrinks, any river or stream from hw2 to the lake is open to fish until the end of the year, from Jan 1 until 4th sat in April, any area from CN/go tracks...

    Best tip for a newbie, don't start fishing in cold weather, you'll only hate it What do you want to catch? How far do you want to travel? What's your definition of easy?
