Guy Paid $6M to Say "Leafs Stink"

had a customer telling me about his sports travels the other day, at 15, he went and saw the washington senators play, baseball team, he still has the ticket stubs from 1951, he paid $4 them. he went to the 72 series in moscow, still has his 4 ticket stubs, paid $650, and that included the...

    Avoiding Snagging/Flossing

i think your leader may be the issue. pay attention to the fish as your bait is coming through the pool, are they moving? if yes, your leader is too heavy and they are swimming around it, causing your hook to catch on tails and fins. go down to say 8lb leader and see what happens. last time i...

    What a GONG show!

bottom line, snags will happen, especially when big fish are involved stacked up in pockets. accidental flossing will eventually happen, you fish long enough, you'll one that swims through your line. you'll mishook fish, especially on a quick aggressive strike, you'll sometimes get them on the...

    Zone 17

it is YOUR responsibility to READ the rules, not ours to explain them all out to you. the books are free, its online, everything is crystal clear, cut and dry, everything is defined, take an hour or so and actually read it.

    Zone 17

What's your go-to Steelhead leader setup?

cut the loop off and tie in a new one using a perfection loop knot. my fly line is on its 4th season of chinooks and holding strong. salmon are very strong, and will break will off, its pretty much a guaruntee unless you're using 50# braid.

What's your go-to Steelhead leader setup?

tapered leaders help your presentation, they will roll out and allow the fly to land softly on the water without spooking the fish. with your setup, the fly will flop over. they become even more important when dry fly fishing. you will also notice a big difference when using the roll cast vs a...

The future of the ganny may be in question!

heres my thoughts, i spend a ton of time on that river in the spring time, never fished the fall runs, but have heard and seen it. its disgusting. make it so that from the dam to lake is a no kill zone. that means you can't even harvest roe by traditional methods ie stroking the belly. police...

What's your go-to Steelhead leader setup?

i use 4x 6.8-8.8lb tapered leaders for steelhead scientific anglers regular and fluoro, then i usually have a couple rolls of tippet material on hand to tie in a new tippet
