    What a nice day...

This is true. I was casting off a pier. So this is a fresh chromer. The browns we get in that same area are very similar in colour. Minus the slightly visible stripe.

    What a nice day...

If it makes you feel better. Mine lasted from mid November!!! What a stupid "winter"...

    What a nice day...

The rainbow colours were a lot more obvious in person. The photos don't do it justice. Mainly browns being caught in that area but this bow was a nice surprise.

    What a nice day...

Got out today for some pier fishing and landed one beautiful chrome rainbow  Finally broke a long skunk! Went out with my 7 foot kayak rod and got it on a live target smelt lure. Those $12 were worth it I guess haha Anyone else get out today?

    Pig-Headed

I'm going through a dry spell right now. I've been skunked like 6-7 times in a row, and it sucks! But it's just making me want to go more though! I blame the weather. I've mostly been fishing in Niagara but unlike years past the conditions have been horrible. The constant rain or...

    I love steelheading !!!

I've never fished for steel at the mouth of a trib like this. Probably cause I always want to avoid the wicked wind. I would like to try though. Does anyone know what depth of water they stage in? And how long do the spring-run fish stay there before heading up the trib?

    Trout Beads

Trout beads are very good. Every steelhead I caught this fall was on a bead. Even got a bite at the whirlpool. I figure they will work just as well in the spring. I'm a believer :)

    This forum sucks...

Nice pike Blair! I know where I'm heading with my kayak in the spring  Jordan harbour is also good.

    This forum sucks...

    1) OFF is a good and informative forum. Saying the entire forum sucks just cause one person posted a revealing picture or mentioned the name of a river is stupid. It's a PUBLIC FORUM, people will do that! 2) So what is someone is "using" my response? Isn't that the point of this forum? To...

    Cold weather gloves

I found some cheap fingerless gloves in Canadian tire. Pretty warm. Best ones I saw were in Niagara-on-the-lake. Wool ones - so warm. But they were like $30. No chance hahaa You should definitely go fingerless though!

    Whirlpool

I'm still waiting to make my first trip to the whirlpool as of this year. I like to wait till the tribs freeze over, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen any time soon. I actually bought a 12'6 noodle rod this year for the whirlpool, but last year I was fishing with my 8'6 creek rod...

    How did we do today??

It wasn't too bad, I was standing there so it looks more murky than it really was. It wasn't clear like before the rain but still ok.

    How did we do today??

Went out before work  Hit on the trout bead. Gotta love those things, they work like magic! Gave a nice fight too.

    Credit river

I find if you avoid Petro Canada Park that you won't see much people at all (this time of year at least). Last few times I went (even on saturday), there was almost nobody around.

    Credit river

I've been meaning to check out the Credit for some fall steelhead but have never fished this river before. I guess I've always been deterred by the talk of large crowds. So I end up fishing tribs from Bronte to Niagara. Which is fine but I feel like I'm missing out... I was wondering if someone...

    How did we do today??

Got this beauty in Bronte today. Couldn't believe how intense the red stripe was on this one! The pictures don't do it justice. Totally surprised me when it hit. I was bored and drifted my trout bead through some rapids and BAM!

    How did we do today??

Lost a large steelie yesterday at Bronte. Water was very clear. It hit my trout bead. I had some cheap #12 hook (which I believe was Gamakatsu) that ended up bending! Never buying their crap again. I picked up some Reven hooks last night, they seem 10X stronger. Do you guys have any...
