wading boots AND vest vs. waist pack

i think that's where i'll start keeping my fly boxes, they take up too much vest room and i never even use the front pocket on my waders. is it the velcro on the front wader pocket that drives you mad Chase? id never thought of taking the velcro off but that actually sounds like a pretty solid...

wading boots AND vest vs. waist pack

hey buck, it comes with two sets of soles. the one on the boot at time of purchase were the kling-on rubber, and they come with a set of felt soles in the box. the boots are far more comfortable than my previous ones, and as AK says, so far i can't see any issues with the soles coming off. i...

wading boots AND vest vs. waist pack

thanks for the help everyone! i did buy a fishpond blue river pack, but returned it. just wasn't happy with how it fit and i guess i never realized how deep i wade, as it was getting soaked regularly. might try one of the fishpond vests or even one of the chest pack/backpack hybrids. i DID get...

    Main line?

x3 on the raven, i've never used anything else. keep in mind the fl. yellow and fl. pink are different formulas. i found the fluorescent green in 8lb to be a terrible line. too much bedding after snag/fish, far too stiff, WAY too stretchy lol. i changed off to the pink in 10lb after a rep told...

    backing

do it yourself it's the same as spooling up regular line. spool up your backing. line to line knot (i like using the albright knot) to your mono, spool mono. all done :)

    Tribby Chinnies

cool little collage, like the "premature spawning" pic hahaha they're definitely running, get out there and do some exploring! if it runs into Lake O, there's fish in it :) all the salmon i've seen over the past week are either dead, dying, or rotting alive. there's steel everywhere.

    float help

not necessarily FAT float for fast water, you want HEAVY float for fast water. the problem with using fat floats in fast water is there is more of the float for the water to push against, causing it to actually move FASTER. you will get the idea. i don't really use fat floats at all. all of...

    leader length

ohhhh, gotcha. ya moving the float will save you a LOT of fluoro! lol. i usually just replace my leader when it gets down to about 10-12" after reties, etc.

    leader length

Based on what chrome said, and your reply, I think you may have misunderstood him. There are definitely times you will need to change the length of lead under your float. When I say LEAD I don’t necessarily mean just your fluorocarbon leader. Im referring to the total length of line under...

wading boots AND vest vs. waist pack

hi everyone, 1.) so i bought some new waders recently, and the Simms just don't look good with my dogwood canyon lug boots. in fact it looks downright ridiculous LOL but really, i find myself often getting sore lower back and legs after a full day of fishing, and am positive it's because of...

    Waders

i just bought a new pair of SIMMS waders as my white river fly shop breatheables were leaking like crazy, even after several shoe goo hand painting sessions lol. and i just bought them last year. i bought the Simms Freestone waders, I believe the newer model which have 5mm neoprene booties as...
