    no walleye .... but

Cought him on the rap, (the worm harness got us a bunch of small perch but that was it.) it was definitely a nice healthy fish though, not a scratch on it.. and it fought like crazy.. I spent a minute just holding in the water afterward too just to make sure it was OK. Then it took off...

What is the most deadly Walleye technique in your opinion?

If two guys are in the boat, trolling.. one guy with a wally diver, the other with a worm harness on a bottom bouncer, when you get fish on one, you change the other one to the same type of lure as whatever they bite on. If i'm by myself.. I usually start with the worm harness. Opening day...

    Sheep Head

We used to get them when fishing the Bay of Quinte for walleye on opening weekends a few years ago. Usually just drifting with a jig head and a big night crawler or a worm harness. they do fight like crazy, but it sucks when you finally get it to the boat and realize it wasn't a giant walleye....

    Deseronto Boat launch

Hey everyone, Has anyone ever used the boat launch in Deseronto (Bay of Quinte) ? How is the launch? and what is the parking like? Looking at heading out there maybe for opening weekend. I know it gets pretty busy around there..but I have never used that particular launch. thanks.

    Your 3 best lures

it's made by Cotton Cordell.... 2 inches long, fat, little minnow bait, kinda wiggles it's way back to you...works beautiful for smallies. has to be white though (has red eyes, with two other small black spots on top), runs pretty shallow. 2-4 feet. IMO..it's a must have in every tackle box.

You can buy a canoe kit at Cdn Tire for about 30$ (boat section), it comes with 4 foam blocks, the ropes and the hooks, works great,

DON"T forget jaw spreaders when going after pike

Hey, good post for sure..Jaw spreaders are worth their weight in gold!! I usually have 3 pairs in the boat. But they are no good without the longnose pliers to get the hooks out... speaking of hooks.. I ususally remove the front treble hook on my bigger minnow baits too. I doesn't seem to...

Do you eat the fish you catch?

I've had pike lots and it tastes geat, I usually keep a few early in the season when the water is colder. Once the water warms up some of them get worms (black spots) , perch get them too.. apparently it's fine to eat them, but I don't. but early season, they taste great.
