    Possible weekend fishing

Hey all i might be able to have one more day on the water this sunday i was thinking of targetting some late falle pike and muskie, or one or the other. I was wondering what would be a good lake that has boat rentals, is not too far from stouffville, and has a reasonable population of both...

    Skunked at Cooks Bay

Hi Grubman , Dynamite would have been ideal I feel. Ya everything was off on Sunday. It was a great learning experience and the water temp was about 58-60, the weeds in the 10-20 fow range they were healthy and vibrant. I think the cold front really shut the bite down, even the panfish were...

    Skunked at Cooks Bay

We did try suspending cranks above the weedline fishing them sloe to imitate injured bait fish. I think the weather and north wind just pushed the fish to basically dig in. We did get a few minnows with just their heads left on the hookand the rest of the body just chewed right off.

    Skunked at Cooks Bay

Hey all was at cooks last Sunday and I promised I'd post a report. My buddy and I we trolled, drop shotted, jigged just about through the tackle box for some pike, LMB, and SMB. We did manage a few perch but nothing of what we were targeting. The wind was from the North and it rained fairly...

    Bait help Lake Simcoe/cooks bay

I think it just means you cannot not use an invasive leech, that you would have to use leeches that are common to Ontario. That what I gathered from the link you posted.

    Bait help Lake Simcoe/cooks bay

I found a few places on rice that have leeches, so i thought some places around simcoe would. If they aren't allowed i will stop using them. But minnows are amazing for drop shotting.

    Bait help Lake Simcoe/cooks bay

Hey everyone, I need some help locating a bait shop that sells minnows, worms, and leaches in the innisfill/keswick area. I've done some research and all I can find is retailers selling worms and leeches but no minnows. If anyone knows where I can go, I would truly appreciate it thanks.

    Rice lake weekend adventure 2

So very true, we had some time to kill and we were bored, so we decided to troll with the heavier gear and see what happened. I bring the muskie rod with me always and just trol for an hour or so to see if we get lucky. The main lake was tough to fish this weekend, it almost felt as though the...

    Rice lake weekend adventure 2

Hey all, As promised I'd update everyone on my day on Rice. It was a little quiet this sunday. However, we hit into about 8 LMB, 2 SMB, and 2 Walleye. We spent most of the day fishing worm tipped jigs for walleye, plugs along the railroad for smb, and then the mouth and along the ottanabee...

    A day on rice Lake

Hey Blair, I agree catch and release is the way to go, but once/twice a year its nice to take a few home. At our place nothing goes to waste and the animal always dies with justice to it in the form of a great meal shared by family. This year has been great fishing, especially on rice for me...
