    SS I don't own a float setup since it is not a common method of fishing here in NS. My plan is to swing and drift flies but if that is not working i may explore the bead technique......to each their own.

    Thanks guys,,,so on a fly rod set up i would have my indicator, then some split shot....then the bead followed by the hook ?

    I see a lot of people using beads which appear to be tied 1-2" above the hook. Why is this versus closer to the hook?.....and does anyone use this setup when fly fishing? I am New to this style of fishing and will be visiting in mid October from NS.

    I will settle for anything that will give me a tight line :) I am a C and R fisher so not going to kill anything. Just looking to get some fly fishing therapy while visiting the inlaws.

    Thanks MadocFlyGuy....you are right...the Brown Trout fishing in those rivers and some closer to the North Shore have great some great fishing. Hooked most of these on a mouse pattern.

    Looks like I will be visting the inlaws again this fall and will be there from oct 15-25... Will the salmon still be in the West Tribs mid October? I will be fly fishing and 100% catch and live release so hope to find a few hours to target the Salmon and Trout
