2.37lb record for bullhead eh...

I bet you that record was smashed many times, but none of us think to report a "bullhead" catch.. Maybe we just don't care or don't think to do it....

I have seen plenty large bullheads, that could rival that weight, and caught one in Trent Canal that weighed just over 3lb and was 16" ... And one from a storm pond that was just over 4lb, and 17" but had the girth of a foot ball! ... Looked like it just finished eating a duck or something !!! ... Again I didn't thikn to record either ....

ANd it's good to know that even the Bullheads are getting in on the Goby feast! I know the smallies definitely love them!
Yes Drop_Shot, pretty sure I've smashed that record 20 or 30 times myself, truth be told I didn't even know Bullhead were considered a gamefish or that records were kept for them.
Have to say that I am not out for any glory. If I catch a fish I am happy, if it appears to be a PB then I am happier.

That smb is more then 4 scale is wrong. I scale the ond in my pic it was 3.2
It's an electronic scale and it was bought just this year. I have weighed many other fish and it has IMO given me realistic weights for the fish I have caught. I think maybe your scale was wrong.

ya i think a lot of fish and birds have changed their diets to goby.

Ya i think a lot of fish / birds have changed their diets to goby. Read something a while ago about cormorants. They were saying that years ago their diet was mostly sunfish and minnows... now its 70% goby!!

Watch after this thread.. The bullhead record will be smashed multiple times in the next couple years ... lol

I watched a fishing show where they were saying that in the future line class records would be determined only by lenght so you will be able to hold a record without having to kill the fish.

I can't find anything about bullheads in the regs. Does this mean that there isn't a season or catch limit? Take what you can eat and be respectful of nature type of deal?
