Hit Jacksons Point on Saturday morning about 6:30 am. hoping for some Jumbos.
Docks at Bonnie Boats already had 20 people lined up pulling in the perch. I think I may have been the only local. Landed a good 30 or so, and all still swimming as far as I know. (its funny to see some peoples reactions when you are throwing back fish after fish!)

It was nice to see the MNR Conservation officer drop by and say hi to everyone. The thing that kills me....out of 20 people fishing, 5 were written up for no licences and buckets of fish in front of them!

Sunday morning in Keswick, at the spot we all frequent. Same MNR guy stops by and same thing happens again. 30 People fishing, 4 more caught with no vaild licences, and buckets of fish of all sizes.

It would be nice if these people made the front page of the Star once and a while.

man atleast they got wrote up and will know better for next time.
i still have yet to see a co up those ways, and everytime i go i know somepeople
there are always fishing illegaly somehow(no license/overlimit)
i remember one family get out of two vans and start fishing with litterally a stick
and some twine, must have kept tripple the limit of the uncle that MAYBE had a license

It is great to see that mnr officer's are doing there job but it is still quite alarming to hear that a quarter of the people that day were out fishing without a licence. I think something has to be done to stop all this nonsence. The system we have does not seem to be working and if they put the story out there then people might think twice before they go fishing without a licence. After all I don't drive my car without a licence so why are people fishing without one. I don't even know what the fine is but it's probably not big enough. I am a hunter and I can't buy ammo without a valid licence the same should be done with fishing gear and bait. No licence no bait and anyone caught without one should have there gear taken from them and not returned I am sure that there are some poor kids that can't afford a rod and reel and would love one.

nice work out there disspatcher! i haven't been able to break the 12" mark yet... i actually landed that jumbo perch in rice lake. 8)

the CO's are out in full force in cooks bay. I'm hearing from a lot of people how they are getting checked for licenses and checking fish kept on many different occasions...still not as much as I would like to see, but at least the effort is there.

Please tell me that along with a fine for no license, they also had their gear taken away... what about the buckets of fish? What happens to that?

They were all given fines and the white pails dumped back into the lake. The CO was more than nice to them, they all left with gear.

This is the exact problem that is happening up this way. The CO's are so under staffed and these infractions are happening constantly. The local guys fishing have a hard time seeing this go on, and try and take matters into their own hands. Unfortunatly there have been a few circumstances where the local has been trying to do good and it gets out of hand. One thing leads to another and it boils over.

Unfortunate for both sides, the "Jack A$$e$" are ruining things for everyone. Some claiming not to know the rules and or speak english, and the other side trying to enforce rules with the wrong attitudes and methods.

Frustrating to say the least.

Glad to hear about your successfull outing, as for these turds...they shouldn`t be so nice to em, take there gear away, otherwise they just have an excuse to come back out thye next day and try again...son of a B*&*%$es!!

again, congrats on you day!!

That's sux, they were also stopping people on the corner of 10 & 89 on my way back to T.O. About 10 CO's
