Never owned a lowrance but fished off of a couple before. They seemed fast and acurate. Personally i perfer grayscale as colour ones make my eyes go googley. Tromblay sells a lot of lowrance and usually have them really cheap it once a year. Do they still make X67 ice? One thing to consider is the transducer it comes with highspeed/highdef/ice and the beam width.

download emulator of the fishfinder you like from their website and play around with options on your computer.

the mark 5x model is weaker in terms of signal strength and it's cheaper price wise, so i believe mark 4 would be better option

great call on the emulators Efka, I just found out by downloading the emulator for the Mark 5x that it has the flasher option. The guy at the store didnt even know that. I will have to put some time into these.

Do you want a more narrow beam width for ice fishing?

The emulator says Mark 5x right in the window. But some of the features on the emulator may only be available for the mark 5x pro as far as I know. I looked on the website and the Mark 5x only has 200 watts RMS which isnt enough for what I need, I think I need at least 300 watts RMS for fishing 100' of water. The more information I come across the more confused I get lol.

Efka have you used this Radio World site before? the prices are rock rock bottom!

i went to the store directly, it's steeles and 400.

they have 20 to 30 fishfinders set up and you can play around and get some good info from the guys.

go there and they will set you up within your budget.

go to canadian tire and they will not only match the price but will give you $21 in ct money.

Happy with the Yamaha? Was gonna go for 2 stroke yamy but opted for 4 stroke merc gutless but great on fuel.

I have had this since 94 and it runs like a clock. Never an issue and work great for taking the kids tubing and water skiing.

Nado, I would be more inclined to go for the Hummingbird 570PT portable for about 249.00 at LeBaron. Here is the link: http://www.lebaron.ca/pdf_files_sp12/hum_500series.pdf I would still wait for those spring sales before deciding.
