I have been been hearing alot of mixed thoughts about fishing in Bluffers park marina, so I thought I would give it a go. On saturday I went down there to scope out the spots and get familar with the area. There were a handful of people fishing in the spots that you can tell are fished regularly. It looked like everyone was fishing for Carp. I didnt bring anything for Carp, so I decided to go with my trusty crankbait. I tossed in a few spots, just about 15-20 casts in about 5 different spots. I ended up landing 2 perch. The day was real sunny and didnt seem like a real fishable day. I was there when the sun is right overhead(2PM-6PM). I decided I would come back when there would be less people and good cloud coverage.

Today I was bored out of my mind so I decided to go down. The cloud coverage was decent so I felt it was going to be a good day. I hit a few of the promising looking spots I scoped the day before. The first cast I made I caught a little Pike, looking around 18-19 inch. After that fish I had nothing so I went to another spot. 3-4 casts later I had another Pike. This time I decided to measure it with my tape and it was 24". I am pissed my cam on my phone is toasted, otherwise there would be pics to see. I have to say that bluffers park is a decent fishing hole. There are many spots to fish down there, so someone walking right up beside you to fish is unlikly(Thank god because I hate that!) I have also herd in a few weeks Salmon are going to be comming into the marina, which I am pretty excited for.

If you live close to Brimley and Kingston Road in Scarborough I would give Bluffers Park a shot. Real nice Urban Fishing

Pike fishing is somehow slow right now compared to last year. I barely get skunked at bluffers. There's a lot of carp and perch. When salmons come in. Don't expect the kind of serenity you had today.

I went back to bluffer this morning. I had no luck with the Pike but I did manage to catch 2 Smallmouths. I went into the marina and seen what looked to be a salmon swimming along the shore. Tossed to him but no bite. When I was heading home I thought to try west of Brimley Road at Bluffers where the storm water ponds are. After 10 mins I got a bite from a Huge ass bass. As he did his aerial I F#$%ing lost him. It def would have been my biggest bass for sure. Carp were jumpin like Jacks in the marina so for all you Carpers...Check it out

Dude what you saw at the marina could be brown trout. hooked 2 yesterday but wasn't able to land it. they love black furies. caught a few small perch then this pike swallowed my 4" daiwa plug.

You know what, I think you are right. I have never landed one myself so my distinction between salmon and trout....not the greatest lol. Man there are lots of kinds of fish down there. Have you ever hit up the storm water ponds before?

I only fish the marinas on the east side. That's where I park. My wife and kids always play on the beach. I work my way starting from the bridge all the way to the mouth. That pike was caught close to the beaver dam. the 2 browns on the rocks facing Lake O. Jerk-Pause got that pike on my Daiwa plug (the one on my profile). 1 brown on black fury#3 another on pmartin silver #4. perch were caught on yellow twister tails.

Good to know, thanks man. I Tried once facing the lake but never had luck, this was near the mouth of the marina on the rocks. Near the beaver dam is where I caught my pike too. Thats crazy I always thought fish would avoid going around beaver dams. Have you ever caught anything on the east side of the bridge? or around that area. The only place on the east I have luck is where the path meets the parking lot, or around the path a bit to the Dam.

I have caught perch and pike on both sides of the bridge spring time. the beach is close on winter but i've seen perch and pike as the rest of the water is frozen except for the bridge. I mostly catch brown trout at the mouth of the marina during the salmon run. just becareful about the swans. they will chase you. vary your lures...i've caught pike there on different lures all in one day. sometimes all of them will work sometimes none will...

HAHA I was down there today at the storm water ponds fishin and them swans were hissing at me lol. Had no luck in the marina today, water was quite low and it was hot!

I know it's somewhat early for salmon on the bluffs. 2nd week of sept most probably but of course salmon won't give you the date when. But after the rain this coming thursday...expect the zoo to move in bluffers park on the weekend. hope you're not expecting a panda...

Right now I only got an Ugly Stik with a Browning spinning reel. My reel only only holds 12lb and im sure my rod would SNAP with a big fish on, Although I did haul in a 39" Muskie with it. Im headin down to Bluffers tonight to get some night fishin in.I Always go there in the morning I wanna see what its like during sun down.
