Fishing Bluffers Park Marina

Next time try more east of the bridge or just all around the marina. It was pretty hot on sunday. The water isnt too deep because its a marina but there are spots where it drops and the fish pool. Its pretty shallow so when its hot out They will most likly be under the docks and around the boats, which is too far to cast. One thing I really hate about bluffers park is the amount of trash left behind from fisherman.

What trash anglers leave in Bluffers pales in comparison to what beach campers do. But yeah it's sad, pathetic and makes me shake my head when I see lure packages around some spots. That's the reason some spots I know, I don't make a trail, that way it's hidden.

HAHa I have a few of them spots too, Kinda hard to cast but its all good. Everytime I go I fill up a whole garbage bag, even fill up my cooler too. Its nuts. I seen a pike that me and my dad thought was dead but it wasnt floating. it was facing downward and its belly was towards me. About 30 mins later my dad yelled hes moving! I went over and he had a spoon in his mouth and the line was snagged on a rock. He eventually wiggled free and he was gone. the amount of line and trash is gross. Since I have been going I have noticed my one spot getting cleaner from all the trash I have been removing, but everytime there is are bound to be a few timmies cups lying around.

I did try a spot on the eastern-most shore of the marina. Saw 1 other guy fishing at a southern shore. Neither of us caught anything except garbage bags.

I stayed there for an hour and then moved to the public boat launch. Saw 2 carps swimming by so I thought id try for carp. After the 3rd cast, I realized the place is infested with gobies and I cant keep my bait on the bottom without getting one. So I sorta "cleared" an area of gobies and put my bait there. Didnt get anymore gobies after that but didnt get any carp either.

There is pike in the boat launch. Hopefully they can finish off the goby population or at least limit it.

lol im gonna help the goby population, size 11 hooks and a worm, there shall be a feast for the sea gulls tonight lol

can we use cast nets ? like the saltwater minnow catcher
Only legal if the net is smaller than 10m X 2m. There are some places where cast net is not allowed so check regulations.

But a casting net? With all those ducks, geese, gulls, swans, boats and people around?

darn I thought casting nets were totally illegal in Ont.
that's why I never tried it, either way I'll try to time it so I get around the geese ducks boats and swans lol, 50 gobi at a time

Fishing was slow today. was there before sunrise...spotted a few browns...wish i had 'crawlers...managed a few perch on spinners. no pike cruising today...totally infested with gobys anywhere you go. a lot of carp on shallow water. will go back tomorrow.

I have only caught a few bass down at bluffers this year. The place that I got most of them was the storm water pond on the west side of the boat launch area. But in my last few outtings at the pond, it has been a good old skunken, unless you count sunfish. It seems to be fished out. Go down and take a look, and you will see why its fished out.....WB crew

I got so many free floats from that storm water area.
You can see MANY of them hanging on branches or on top of the water.
Oh I know man. I climbed a tree down there when the wind took my line during a cast and got all hooked up. I ended up with all these spoons, jigs, dropshots, its jokes. Sometimes you find these little tackle boxes floating in the water. I found 2. 1 was empty and the other had some kind of food in it, the smell was KILLER.
