I was just wondering if anyone here who has been to Dunnville ON (near Lake Erie). I heard that they have good size Channel Catfish down there on the Grand River in the dam area. I was wondering if anyone knows where the best spots to fish in that area for Channels (I know there is the Byng Island Conservation Area and the Dover Rd bridge right near the dam that I saw on Google streetview).

rite now u really need a boat to get out and find the deeper holes. if u go in the spring after ice out, u can fish from shore, fishmasters bait and tackle is the best area, tons of shore access, and bait. lots of 20+ lb kitties there each year.

Do you know if it is safe to eat the channel cats there? I've heard that the Grand River down there isn't as good as more upstream (like near Belwood Lake).
