bogus lol. i remember they use to put that on calenders.. amusing to see that there's 'excellent' fishing on that day.. but other than that.. waste of time lol

Anyone use that info? Believe in it?

I don't belive in it either too bad tho if it was that easy it would be much easier planning vacation/days off;)

These times are based on the lunar and solar tables as I had asked in the other post. I think that there is some relevance, but there are so many other factor that you need to consider, like the weather and the water clarity.

they definitely affect fishing to some degree, but as was said, it also depends greatly on water and weather conditions.

The lunar schedule, barometric pressure, temp, ect its all connected somehow.

Ice hut operator I was with last year, kept a callender in his hut. Everyday he would record what was caught in his hut. If the callender said you were going to get fish, you would. Some days said no fish,,not a bite. He has kept this type of record for the last 10 years and typically its right on the button.

Hard to argue the fact but who really knows.

ya tried that when i was a kid and thought it was true until i found out on my own that ever lake and fish has it's own time and mood lol

Ya I can agree with the fact that if you are on/beside the water your going to catch more fish then sitting at home awaiting a "excellent" day of fishing that the calender promises. I have caught walleye at 12pm when theirs no waves, and it as hot at it could be in mid summer. Their are way to many factors that contribute to fish biting, if their are their, structure, water temp, calm/wavy, morning/evening, and even things like the current have a part in it. I would think that anyone who has a day of fishing and gets "skunked" should think of these things and do some research on why they caught no fish. I personally looked up what kind of bait the grand river was gving the fish, what was the temp of the water, and the type of day(overcast) and when I went last week I could not keep them off my line all day. All I did was mimick what was naturally happening near the dam and I was rewarded with one of the best days of fishing I have had. I used imatation minnows, and crank baits and tossed them towards the dam and let them drift down from one side towards me at shore. I caught walleye, and smallmouth and lost a couple unknowns. In my mind it was natural order, I mean the bait fish could only go as far as the dam then they were stuck, and sure enough all the predator fish would be waiting in the pools, rapids bhind them gulping up anything that came close. It was a great day, and I strongly recommend anyone research for 5min before they go fishing and set up some kind of plan of attack, I have had some great days of just winging it, but when you plan it and it happens it makes you realize that you make your own luck, and your only as good as you choose to be at fishing.

Anytime you can get to fish is a good time, but like many of us with our busy lives, if we are limited to the amount of hour spent on the water then these charts can maybe be helpful to plan better for a more successful trip.

True, I can relate to taking a peek at a chart once and awhile.
I would love to know how much time and resources went into making these charts, and if their is alot invested I wish half of the time went to our actual fisheries because I have seen a major decline in them over the past couple years that is very alarming.
I hope eveyone is having good times this year, anyone interested in some great times this saturday pm me and i'll let u know were im going and can upload some picks of what I caught last weekend, worth the drive i can assure you,
Chris

honestly, i would take a look, but it wouldnt matter to whether i went out that day if it were my choice. i rather go out and get skunked anyday than stay home . :)

I can agree with that, I've gone when its pouring rain, or so cold your fingers freeze after one cast and its still worth the time out, time to clear your head or think about things on a more relaxed level. Fishing for me is so much more than just catching them, I guess its different for everyone, but im an adrenaline junky and love the hit, the wonder after the first hookset of what it is. Or the one last cast before you go home, lol. I guess fishing is really a huge combination of things that amount to one definate.
Fishing is KEY.
