Float fishing questions

I like using trilene xt as my shot line. 6 lb extra tough and i put my the float and shots in it. The xt line allows me to slide the float and shot to adjust to conditions. Then 2ft of fluoro to the hook

good idea, cause i found out that if i tightened the shots on the flouro shot line a bit, when i adjust the shots it sometimes shred a bit of line and makes it a bit weaker and vulnerable to breakage,

good set up althout I usually put 4lb trilene as shot line. I use siglon F 10lb pink as main and using a 6lb usually my main snaps before my shotline (noticed after losing so many). And I use a 2lb fluoro.
