I picked up a clam shelter and was trying to think of something to use as a floor that is easily transported.

I thought of using a rubber mat but was worried about it freezing to the ice with condensation created from the floor being cold and the indoor air being warm ( heated)

trying to keep the costs low on this also.

I could use something like this as well for when those flooding conditions occur. I was thinking about just wearing some heavy boot foot waders next time.

If you used a rubber mat, you could spray it with a silicone on the bottom at home before you leave. That would keep the ice from forming on it, but it could be a little slippery...........

I just use good waterproof winter boots or insulated kamik rubber boots, never had an issue. A floor is just a bonus..doesnt the clam have built in chairs and a spot to put youe feet?

The clam came with a rug I think it was called the landing strip, doesn't seem like it will do the trick. I need something thicker!

Interlocking foam floor mats.
Not expensive, warm for the feet & light to carry out. Never had a problem with them freezing to the ice.

I like this idea. Do you have any pics?
