Hi all,

I will be heading up to Erin Ontario this weekend.... so I may try to fish the Forks of the Credit fly fishing

I have never fished ontario and just got some of my stuff shipped.....
any advice for my first trip would be awesome....

Is there a good place for the regs in that area?
Flies and size to use there?
Do I need waders?

thanks alot!
Pm me if you like

hello and welcom to the forum!

just out of curiosity, did you just move to ontario?

i've never fished the credit river before, but considering the water temp, unless you plan to fish from shore or boat, you'll definately need waders

probably tasted great!
They sure did!

To be honest if you have a licence you have the right to keep your fish. I hit over 40 brookies in the same hole 2 day's in a row and kept two, could have kept 5. The other 38 + realeased and survived. This secret honey hole is fished by only 2 people. My Dad and myself, so we make sure there is always fish in there for the future.

thats pretty sweet you got a spot to yourselves. good on ya for keepin a nice meal. I really dislike people chirpin at others for keeping their legal catch

LOL Don't worry Blair, as long as you don't keep any fish I will show you the spot, we will go soon some time end of April, beginning of may and also mid- late september, and of course you can keep what you catch. But I know you Blair, you wouldn't keep any.

pssss there are no fish in the humber

If you don't want to fish the humber that's cool, less people , more fish for me

Humber has no restrictions as to bait, just the upper credit. Not sure what they use in the upper credit have not gotten into fly fishing yet. For the humber the usual works, spinners, dew worms, chubs, crayfish.

Lets do a tour sometime Fisher12.

I can fish it, it's just that when I googled it no results came up, but the forks of the credit has information and I don't really know the exact area to fish the Humber.
Well thanks anyways.

i fish upper credit in the summer and moslty i see fly guys there including my self  All small fish, i have yet to catch a big trout on my fly rod. Itsa blast catching small trout man they are wild. i think my biggest rainbow was 15 inches  i gotta try forks this summer i only been there once and this place u had to pay to get in  i must been at the wrong place

I wasnt refering to you fisher12, I was refering to Jordan's comment about no fish in the humber. As I said I would be happy to show you some easy accessible spots on the humber, what area are you intersted in?

You Paid? Just go along the forks of the credit road and there are tons of free places with public access. I lived in belfountain for a while so did some hikes there. Also just at Ken whillans on the way.
