sounds good :) judging by the Ganaraska update you gave earlier: we won't be let down....

I'm going there with my dad and his friend. Just tossing lures. If anything happens, Ill post a little something :D

Any suggestions how to fish bluffers park? I'm fairly new to the area and have no idea what works and what doesn't.

I went there this morning (9:00-10:30), there were 3 more persons and only one of them caugth a small fish, which I could not recognize what it was, as I was a bit far. That was it. Shallow water

Was there from 6-9 this morning and it was crap the water's low and still too warm for meaningful numbers. Give it a week or two. Did find some great spots on Bronte later in the day though.

im thinking of bringing my inflatable boat and trolling motor :)

ah man it wouldn't be a good move. You would get in the way of too many boaters and anglers. The donut like canal isn't very wide, but man I wish I could bring my kayak. Darn those boaters!

today at the bluffers park in he morning some guy was snaggi

today a guy was snagging for brown / rainbow trout as well as salmon he took a hen full of eggs that was not cool

some people don't care about what rules they are or how to catch a fish that was very cruel

thats just the sad reality of the bluffs, or the marina should i say. i mean if you really think about it maybe 1 of 10 browns caught there actually hit, the rest lined or snagged. and the only salmon ive ever seen hit down there are jacks, again the rest are lined or snagged. if u guys want hitting fish go hit up the light house or the opening of the boatlaunch. the fish in these areas are still staging therefore are still willing to feed.

Licensetopin, I lost a mature 20something pound salmon on a blue J-13 yesterday over there. They totally hit large baits! Plus the 1 in 10 brown theory just doesn't add up with all the fish the member tangledline caught on the spinner!

i dont disagree with you on them hitting hardware, im talking about the general fishing crowd at this time of year at he bluffs period ie the bunch of ppl lining and snagging salmon in a foot of water under the bridge. maybe you were just lucky that day but last i went last week i caught 6 pike, no salmon or browns on hardware but got into some salmon float fishing skien at the lighthouse. i think its more exhiliratinng when my float drops knowing that it can only be a fish since im fishing a 6 ft lead in 20 ft or so of water. nevermind the fact that they run straight into the lake. i started fishing at the bluffs when i was in grd 6 and let me tell you, the only one thing thats ever changed are the fish numbers and thats less fish ever year. I personally live a 5 min bike ride to the bluffs and worked there for 6 years with roland at his restaurant and i hardly even go down there to wet a line nowadays, its just sad to see so many ppl that just dont care.

on a side note check out these browns i caught at the marina over the years most of em caught on big fat juicy nightcrawlers under a float, being a kid i was restricted to fishing the bluffs so i got to know the park well for all types of fishing.

Dont mind the crappy quality and the dates these pics are from a first generation .5 megapixel digital kodak digital camera, the date would change everytime i changed the batteries.

Great shots of the browns! Particularly the silver colours! I assume they change colour when they're getting ready to spawn?

I've yet to catch one and it's probably because of the wrong time of day.

Speaking of J-13s lures, I went to the tackle shop to stock on some artificials and was going to pick up some J-13s, but they are long! Like 8 inches long. Was I looking at the wrong lure or something? They look too big and something that a muskie would chase after. I ended up picking up a J-9 and J-7 jointed Rapala instead. Are there different kinds of jointed J-13s?

Yeah, J13s are large. Excellent for salmon but too large for trout, IMO. Have you noticed most stores have run out of J13! one sayd that works and then everybody uses it. I ound that other cranbaits of similar size would work just fine, cheaper as well! fish do not care about the brand, but the presentation
