A couple of weeks ago I saw two GFL tanker trucks in the parking spot under the bridge by Duffins Creek on Church Street in Pickering. One was dumping and the other was waiting for his buddy. I meant to do something about it but I forgot because i'm kind of old and slow and just keeping my job takes all my energy. Today I drove by the same spot form north to south instead of my usual south to north and I saw a big swath of dead vegatation where the GFL truck had been backed up the last time I was there.
GFL means Green For Life. /\
When I can get away at lunch I walk along the Ajax/Pickering lakefront trail Recently I've seen, what looks to me like, processed human feces flowing into the lake in Duffins Crek under the bridge.\. I think I know where it is coming from. I think it is coming from GFL tanker trucks dumping sewage under the bridge on Church Street in Pickering.
Like a suddenly famous backbencher conservative said recently - " One person can't make a difference". When I first saw the GFL trucks dumping under the bridge at Church Street I was afraid to confront them because I thought it would be like an episode of the Sopronas where I was the one who disappeared.
Maybe one peson can't do anything. But maybe the combined mght of OFAH can.
I remember eating fish out of Duffins Creek 50 years ago when our family had to struggle to stay alive. They were good fish. I can taste them now.
Should GFL be allowe to poison Duffins Creek? I think not.
I'd like to think that your children's children's great grandchildren should be able to get a healthful meal from Duffins Creek if the need arises.
Can OFAH help resolve this issue? Maybe there's a couple of bad apples in the GFL program. Maybe GFL management is involved. At any rate I can't do it alone. Can OFAH helP?
thanks
